Elk Cove Vineyards
AVA - Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon
Among Oregon's early handful of premium producers, Elk Cove's terroir-influenced pinot noirs have consistently erred on the side of subtlety, balance and elegance with an impressive, silky texture. The best will age well for two decades. Elk Cove Vineyards proudly remains a family owned and operated winery.
The estate vineyards of which there are five cover 220 acres across four separate sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. Elk Cove uses sustainable agricultural practices on all of its vineyards and all fruit is hand harvested. Just 25 acres of the 220 acres are selected each year for the single vineyard bottlings; Windhill and Roosevelt Vineyards are farmed using organic practices since 1999 and 2004 respectively, whilst La Boheme and Five Mountain Vineyards are farmed using sustainable practices. The Mt. Richmond vineyard is the youngest of all the single vineyards, planted in 1996 to emulate the quality of the other four vineyards.
