Stoller Family Estate
AVA - Dundee Hills, Oregon
Stoller Family Estate is owned by Bill Stoller. The vineyard was initially planted in 1996 to 4ha each of pinot noir and chardonnay, the property as a whole is 375 acres, and was once the largest turkey farm in the state, now given over completely to vineyards.
The land has been in the Stoller family since the 1920s and is near where Bill Stoller grew up. The winery was added in 2005. Designed to state-of-the-art environmental standards, it was the first Gold-Certified LEED winery in the United States. The vineyard has steep hillsides, rocky, low yielding Jory type soil, and the terrain bears a distinct resemblance to the famed Corton vineyard in Burgundy, leading some winemakers to refer to Stoller as 'Corton Hill'.
